Home Assistant Remote Access Without Port Forwarding

Install the Securicloud Agent add-on and connect your Home Assistant installation without port forwarding, VPN setup or router changes.

Securicloud Agent for Home Assistant

The Securicloud Agent add-on creates a secure outbound connection from your Home Assistant installation to Securicloud, so you do not need inbound router ports or VPN access to your home network.

After registration, Securicloud automatically creates an instance and a default access token for your Home Assistant installation. The token enables access to that Home Assistant service, not to your entire private network.

Service access, not network access

VPNs are useful when you want access to a private network. Securicloud is designed for cases where you only want remote access to Home Assistant itself.

You can share or revoke access using access tokens without explaining VPN apps, private network addresses or router configuration.

Note: In current Home Assistant versions, add-ons are managed from Settings → Apps. Securicloud Agent is still installed as a Home Assistant add-on.

Registration

Running the add-on does not enable remote access by itself. Registration is required before your Home Assistant installation can be accessed through Securicloud.

When you click Register installation, Securicloud opens in a new browser tab and guides you through registration.

Once registration is complete, your Home Assistant instance appears in the Securicloud Control Panel.

Troubleshooting

If the registration page does not open from the add-on Web UI, check the add-on logs. The logs may contain an onboarding link that can be opened manually.

If the add-on was previously registered and you want to start over, use the add-on reset option. Resetting the Instance ID revokes the previous registration and generates a new identity.

If remote access does not work immediately after registration, restart the add-on and try again.
