Service Instances

An instance represents one selected service you make available through Securicloud.

What is an instance?

An instance is a specific service in your network that you want to access remotely. Instances are how Securicloud exposes individual services instead of opening access to your entire private network.

This can be Home Assistant, a web application, an SSH server, Remote Desktop, VNC, or another supported service.

Home Assistant instances

When you install and start the Securicloud add-on, open its Web UI and click Register installation, Securicloud automatically adds an instance for that Home Assistant installation.

This is the closest to zero-configuration setup. You do not need to manually define the service.

Hub Agent instances

After you register a Hub Agent, you can add instances manually to expose other services from your network.

This gives you more flexibility, but usually requires more setup than Home Assistant.

When you add an instance, Securicloud automatically creates a Default access token. You can use that token immediately, or manage access tokens later from the Control Panel.
