Home Assistant Remote Access Without Port Forwarding
Access your Home Assistant installation remotely without router changes, VPN setup, dynamic DNS, or exposing your whole home network.
When this is useful
Home Assistant is often useful outside the home, but traditional remote access can require port forwarding, DNS setup, VPN clients, router configuration, or CGNAT workarounds.
Securicloud is intended for cases where you want remote access to Home Assistant itself, not general access to the entire private network.
How it works
- Install and start the Securicloud Agent add-on in Home Assistant.
- Open the add-on Web UI.
- Click Register installation.
- Securicloud creates a Home Assistant instance and a Default access token.
- Use the generated access link to connect remotely.
Running the add-on alone does not enable remote access. Registration is required first.
What this avoids
- Opening inbound ports on your router
- Setting up a VPN just to reach Home Assistant
- Managing dynamic DNS or public IP changes
- Giving users access to your whole private network
Service-based access
A Home Assistant access token opens the registered Home Assistant instance. It does not grant general access to other devices or services in your home network.
If access is no longer needed, the token can be deleted or rotated from the Control Panel.
